The accused, Jatvath Tarun, confessed to the police that he had strangled his wife, Jhansi, because she refused to have sex with him. This couple, who hails from Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, had a love marriage in 2021. Tarun is an auto rickshaw driver. He had moved to Hyderabad with his wife and the family was living in Khaja Bagh of IS Sadan division. At the same time, the couple has a two-year-old son.
Husband forced to have sex
Tarun told the police that on the night of May 20, he had expressed his desire to have physical relations with his wife. Jhansi told him that she was very tired, that’s why she refused to have a relationship. But the young man started forcing himself on her. When she started screaming, he covered her mouth with his hand. She could not breathe as her mouth and nose were closed.
Doctors said dead
When the woman fainted and foam started coming out of her mouth, Tarun panicked and informed the family. The woman was immediately taken to Owaisi Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. The hospital authorities informed the police. The body was shifted to the government-run Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.
Husband confessed
Her husband Tarun kept silence on the cause of the woman’s death. However, a case has been registered at Saidabad police station on the complaint of Jhansi’s father Nenavat Rekia. The postmortem report on May 30 revealed that the woman died of suffocation. When the police arrested the woman’s husband and interrogated him. The police picked up Tarun and he confessed to the crime during interrogation. The police arrested him. He was later sent on judicial remand.
