Maharashtra / Mumbai: Free food became a problem at the wedding! First the guests thrashed, then the scooty was stolen

You must have heard the saying of Abdullah being crazy about a foreign marriage. In Mumbai, such a big problem arose for a young man who came to eat free food at an unknown wedding that he had to complain to the police station. It so happened that at first the guests caught hold of him and thrashed him fiercely. The person who saved his life ran away with his scooty. The incident took place on June 13 with Javed Qureshi, a resident of Goregaon. He was out with his 17-year-old cousin and some friends. When they reached Jogeshwari, she along with her brother and friends thought of having free food at a wedding going on nearby. They entered that community hall.

All the youths entered the venue and started hawking the food, not knowing that they neither knew the bridegroom nor the bride. While they were enjoying the free food, some members of the host family suspected them. They came to talk to him. In the meantime, they came to know that those youths have come to eat free food.

“On realizing that the youths had reached the wedding venue to have free food, the hosts became aggressive and started thrashing other youths, including Qureshi,” said an Oshiwara police officer. Frightened by the scuffle, the uninvited guests started running towards the exit, the policeman said.

Now when they reached the road outside the hall, again some of the guests started attacking them. Meanwhile, some people also came to intervene and saved the lives of those youths from the guests. Qureshi obliged and requested one of them to fetch his scooty from the parking lot as he did not want to visit the venue again.

According to the police officer, Qureshi trustingly gave the scooty keys to one of the rescuers. However, it so happened that the one who was given the key of the scooty, absconded with the scooty. Now Qureshi has filed a complaint of cheating and theft at the Oshiwara police station. The police have registered a case and started nabbing the accused.
