Congressmen protested against the regional MLA on Saturday. He expressed displeasure over the dilapidated roads in the Pasulok displaced area. Expressing their protest by planting paddy on the roads, they demanded the construction of the road soon. On Saturday, Congress workers demonstrated paddy planting on the road in Nirmal Bagh, the displaced area of Pashulok. Congress state general secretary Rajpal Kharola said that the people of Rishikesh have been duped in the name of development. It is being said by the regional MLA that no road is left unpaved in Rishikesh assembly. Whereas in reality the road to the homes of the displaced people of Tehri Dam has not been built for the last two years. He said that the MLAs of Rishikesh are able to build only 50 to 100 meters of road with their MLA funds. The Tehri dam displaced had come to Rishikesh in the national interest, leaving their home, family, memories, culture, they are still not getting those basic facilities here. The few roads which were in the area were also damaged due to the construction of sewerline and for the last two years the local people are upset. He said that if the roads are not constructed in the displaced area soon, then agitation will be done. Lallan Rajbhar, Gambhir Gulial, Jagdamba Raturi, Manish Maithani, Prem Lal Maithani, Balbir Singh, Dharmendra Gulial, Rajendra Gairola, Subhash Jakhmola, Sonu Pandey, Lokpal Kantura, Jitendra Yadav, Karan Padiyar, Suresh Kharola, Nirmal Bahuguna, Girveer Gulial, Surendra Rana, Sohan Lal Joshi, Bishan Singh Rawat, Balvir Singh Rawat, Madan Lal, Deepak Thapliyal etc. were included.
