Some local people put their lives at stake for a calf stuck in the silt ejector channel of Chilla Shakti Canal. The youth took out the calf safely by risking their lives. This video of the rescue of the heifer is being widely circulated in the internet media.

The matter is about 10 o’clock on Monday morning. A calf fell into the small canal (silt ejector channel) of the Kunau Barrage. After getting the information, residents of Kunau village Mahavir Aswal, Lakhan Aswal, Veer Singh Aswal, Ashish Payal and Surendra Aswal reached the spot. The heifer was stuck in a whirlpool in a strong current of the channel. She was trying to come out, but due to the depth and the whirlpool, she was not able to come out. Meanwhile, a courageous young man got into the canal. Other youths supported him with the help of a rope. The young man took the heifer out of the whirlpool. After which it was brought along with the flow of water for some distance in the canal itself, where the heifer was taken out safely with the help of the stairs made.
