Bihar / Jamui: Sterilization was done in the family planning camp, yet the woman became pregnant, health department is telling the reason

In Jhajha block of Jamui district of Bihar, a case of a woman getting pregnant even after sterilization has come to light. According to reports, the woman had undergone sterilization in November last year, yet she has been found to be 2 months pregnant in the test. Please tell that the woman already has 2 sons and 2 daughters. After the matter came to light, the health department said that there is a possibility of one percent failure of the operation. The department has said that appropriate action will be taken in this matter and a committee will investigate it.

The operation was done on 17 November

This shocking case pertains to Rekha Devi, a resident of Kodwadih of Chapa Panchayat in the district. Rekha Devi is already a mother of two sons and two daughters. On November 17 last year, a camp was organized in the Referral Hospital on behalf of the Health Department regarding family planning. In this, Rekha Devi got the sterilization operation done and after that she went to her home. The woman came to know after 2 months that she became pregnant again. The woman also got an ultrasound done, in which it was revealed that she was 2 months pregnant.

Civil surgeon told why this happened

Rekha Devi is now pleading with the officials of the health department after taking the ultrasound report along with her husband. On the other hand, Jamui’s civil surgeon Kumar Mahendra Pratap told that it is an operation, in which there is a scope of one percent failure. The civil surgeon said that such a case has also come to the fore in Jamui. He said that there is a committee for this in the district which will investigate the matter. He said that there is also a provision of compensation in such cases and further action would be taken as per the wish of the couple.
