Uttarakhand: Smoke rose from the tracks and the rumor of a fire in the train spread like fire, then people started jumping down from the train.

There was a stir among the passengers on the train due to the information of fire in the train near Raisi railway station of Laksar area of Haridwar district. Panic among the passengers increased even more when the train driver stopped the train on the bridge of Banganga river. After this, risking their lives, the passengers got down from the train and were seen running from the edge of the bridge to save their lives. According to the information received, as soon as the Sadbhavna Express going from Lucknow to Chandigarh reached near Raisi railway station under Luxor area on Sunday, someone pulled the chain of the train. As soon as the chain pulling was done, the train got jammed over the Banganga river and smoke started rising from the brakes of the train. Seeing the smoke, the passengers in the train felt that the train was on fire. As soon as the information about the fire spread, an atmosphere of chaos and stampede was created among the passengers.
The special thing is that at the time the passengers aboard the train got down on the bridge built over the Banganga river. Risking their lives, passengers jumped from the train and stood clinging to the tracks and the pillars on the bridge. It is also being said that some people jumped down to save their lives. After this, as soon as the information was received, the top officials of the railway also reached the spot and after fixing the brakes of the train, the train was sent forward. According to the information, the Lucknow-Chandigarh Express (Sadbhavna Express) reaches Laksar Railway Station at 11:25 am daily, but due to rumor on Sunday, the train reached Laksar station at 12:28 pm.
It is being told that the train stood on the Banganga bridge for about an hour. During this, there was shouting among the passengers. It is also being told that some passengers jumped into the water in order to save their lives. A local resident made a video of the incident and made it viral on social media. Om Prakash, station master of Raisi railway station informed the media on the matter that the brakes of the train were jammed. After which smoke started rising from the wheels of the train. Seeing the smoke rising, people spread the information about the fire in the train. No loss of life or property has been reported in the incident.
