In a conversation with Congress leader and former party president Sonia Gandhi, women farmers from Haryana said, “Marry Rahul.” On this Sonia Gandhi turned to him and said, “You find a girl for him.” Rahul Gandhi had recently promised to host a banquet for women farmers during his visit to Haryana, and in fulfillment of this promise, Sonia Gandhi invited some women from Sonepat district of Haryana for lunch at her residence. The women invited for the meal discussed Rahul’s marriage during their meeting with Sonia Gandhi. A woman who reached Sonia’s 10 Janpath residence told her, “Marry Rahul”. To this Sonia said, “You find a girl for him.” Rahul Gandhi was standing there listening to this conversation and he said, “It will happen.” During this, a woman also fed food to Rahul Gandhi with her own hand.

Rahul was more mischievous than me – Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
In a light-hearted discussion, Congress general secretary and Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra told the women, “Rahul was more mischievous than me, but I got scolded more.” Rahul Gandhi had suddenly reached Madina village of Sonipat on 8th July. He interacted with the people and spent time with the farmers working in the fields. During this, Rahul Gandhi had promised to call him for ‘Delhi Darshan’. These people had told the Congress leader that despite being so close to the national capital, they had never been to Delhi. In the course of this meeting with the people, Rahul Gandhi got the farmer women talking to his sister Priyanka. These women had expressed their desire to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to invite them for dinner.
After meeting the women, Rahul Gandhi shared a video on Twitter saying, “A memorable day for Maa, Priyanka and me meeting some very special guests. Delhi darshan of Sonipat’s farmer sisters, dinner with them at home and lots of conversation. Desi ghee, sweet lassi, homemade pickles and lots of love – priceless gifts.”

The Congress wrote on its Twitter handle, “Rahul Gandhi had promised to call the farmer sisters of Sonipat to Delhi. Farmer sisters came to Delhi and thus the promise was fulfilled. In the video, the Gandhi family was seen interacting with the women and offering them food. In this, Rahul Gandhi was seen asking the women whether they liked the food or not and whether everyone had sweets or not. He also gave chocolates to the children.
