Indiscriminate firing in train going from Jaipur to Mumbai, constable becomes killer of 4 people

In a train going from Jaipur to Mumbai, there was indiscriminate firing on Monday near Palghar station in Maharashtra. Four people died in this accident. It is being told that the RPF constable who opened fire has been arrested. RPF ASI and three passengers died in the accident.

Palghar is about 100 kilometers away from Mumbai. According to the police, the accused constable Chetan is mentally unstable. Chetan suddenly fired on ASI Tika Ram in a moving train. After this Chetan went to another bogie, where he fired at three passengers. Four people died in this.

The constable was trying to escape

Constable Chetan tried to escape after killing all four. He stopped the train by pulling the chain and jumped from the train near Mira Road. However, he was later arrested by the GRP jawans along with the weapon.

Accused Chetan is posted in Mumbai Central RPF. He is a resident of Hathras. Earlier his posting was in Gujarat. Recently he was transferred to Mumbai. At the same time, the deceased ASI Tikaram was posted in Dadar RPF. He was a resident of Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.

According to RPF sources, a senior officer and three jawans are always deployed for escort. They travel along with the train. Chetan went to Surat railway station on Sunday while escorting a train. Here he rested for a few hours. After this, he boarded the Jaipur Mumbai Superfast Express from Surat Railway Station. There were two more constables with him here. While ASI Tikaram was heading all of them.

According to sources, after leaving Palghar railway station, Chetan started firing. After this, he jumped from the train by pulling the chain. However, he was arrested by RPF personnel. On the other hand, the dead bodies have been sent for postmortem. Railway Police has started investigation in the matter. Not only this, both the constables posted with Chetan have also been questioned.

Firing from AKM gun

Accused Chetan fired from his service gun AKM. This is a modified version of AK 47. The accused fired at three places in the train. He shot two people in B5 coach. While one was shot in Pantry and one in S6.

DRM Neeraj Kumar told that the accused Chetan has been brought to Borivali police station, where he is being interrogated continuously. The reason for the firing is not completely clear yet.
