Uttar Pradesh / Etah: To get the pension of the dead father, the daughter became the “wife of the father”! Took 12 lakhs in 10 years

A daughter from UP’s Etah pretended to be the wife of her deceased father and illegally took pension for 10 years. He used to get Rs 10,000 as pension every month from the government. In this way he defrauded the government of about Rs 12 lakh. The case is of Aliganj in the district. As per reports, the matter came to light after the woman’s husband exposed her cheating. The woman’s husband lodged a complaint with the authorities in the matter. After this, 36-year-old Mohsina Parvez was caught by the police and sent to custody following a court order.
As per reports, retired revenue clerk Wajahat Ullah Khan passed away on 2 January 2013. His wife Sabia Begum had predeceased him. After this Mohsina, the daughter of the deceased, made fake documents to present herself as the father’s wife and started taking pension. In this case, officials told that till now she has taken pension of more than Rs 12 lakh. Mohsina married Farooq Ali in 2017 but their relationship turned sour. After this they separated.
Woman put her pictures with mother’s name
Officials said Farooq was aware that Mohsina was drawing pension illegally but disclosed the matter after she left him last year. Preliminary investigation conducted by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office in Aliganj revealed that Mohsina cleverly used her mother’s name along with her photograph in the pension application. In this way he cheated the officials. A clerk and a beat constable authenticate the application. After this the application reached the District Treasury for final approval.
Action will be taken against the accused employees
After getting information about the matter, an FIR has been registered against Mohsina at Aliganj police station. He has been charged under several sections of the IPC. These include 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine). Police said the officials who approved the woman’s application are also being probed. Additional District Magistrate Alok Kumar said the probe has revealed several lapses in the verification and approval process of the pension application of the accused. Strict action will be taken against the employees found guilty of connivance with the accused.
