French Minister Gerald Darmanin said on BFM TV that five police officers were also injured in the attack on Sunday night. The incident took place outside the Velodrome stadium in which ‘projectiles’ were fired and the windows of the bus were broken. Coach Grosso was injured by shards of glass and his face started bleeding.
The club’s assistant coach Rafael Longo was also injured during this period. Grosso suffered a deep cut above his eye which required stitches. However, disciplinary sanctions are unlikely to be imposed against the nine-time champions as the incident took place outside the stadium.
