Stone pelting on Vande Bharat train, no casualty reported
Stones were pelted on Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat train on Sunday night. East Coast Railway informed about the incident on Monday. The incident occurred between Meramandali and Budhpank stations in the Dhenkanal-Angul railway section. However, there is no news of any casualty in this incident. The statement issued said that train number 20835 Vande Bharat Express was pelted with stones by some unruly elements on the Bhubaneswar-Sambalpur railway line. Railway official said that the window glass of the executive class was broken in this incident. Due to which the train reached Puri late by 13 minutes.
Local police informed, demand for action
The officer said that the RPF officer informed about the incident. The security wing of ECoR has taken the matter seriously and has alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP). The local police has also been informed about the matter. The security wing of ECOR is working with the local police to trace the culprits, the official said.
Railways running awareness campaign to stop stone pelting
The official also said that East Coast Railway is making people aware not to throw stones at trains. For which a continuous campaign is being run. Let us tell you that similar incidents of stone pelting on Vande Bharat trains were seen earlier also from many parts of the country.
