Uttarakhand became the champion by defeating 08 states in the Regional Level Quiz Competition, Shubhika Arpit and Naveen Kumar brought glory to the state.
Regional Level Quiz Competition was organized today by Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Committee, Medical Health and Family Welfare Department at Hotel Pacific, Subhash Road, Dehradun. In this regional level competition, participants from a total of 09 states (Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh) including Uttarakhand state participated. The first winning team of the state level quiz competition of 09 states, nodal teachers and SACS officials of the states along with representatives of NACO, Government of India, National Consultant IEC and Mainstreaming Benjamin Franklin participated in the competition. The guests were welcomed in Uttarakhandi traditional style. The guests were presented a memento of Kedarnath along with a Pahari cap.
The Regional Level Quiz Competition was inaugurated by Dr. Vineeta Shah, Director General Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand by lighting the lamp and flower bouquets were presented to the guests. Dr. Ashutosh Sayana and Dr. Bhagirathi Jangpangi, Director, Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand participated as special guests in the program. After this, a welcome song was presented by the cultural group Hansa Dance and Drama Society and an attractive presentation of Nanda Devi Rajjat Yatra was given. Additional Project Director, Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Committee, Dr. Ajay Kumar, welcomed the chief guest and the representatives and participants from the states. He said that today there is a need that every person in the society should be made so aware about HIV/AIDS so that we can eradicate it from its roots.
Dr. Vinita Shah, Director General, Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand said that the Health Department and Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Committee are trying to ensure that no person gets HIV infection. For this, along with the health department, every person in the society should bring changes in their behaviour. Behave in a restrained manner and become a role model for the future generation. Shri Benjamin Franklin, Consultant IEC and Mainstreaming, NACO, Government of India, gave information about the rules of the regional level quiz competition. After that the regional level quiz competition was started. The competition was started in 04 phases. In each phase, 18 questions were asked on the topic of HIV/AIDS. Trophies and certificates were given to the winning team by Additional Project Director, Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Committee, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Colonel Alok Gupta, SHO Cantt and other guests.
In the competition, first place was secured by Miss Shubhika Arpit, Naveen Kumar from Uttarakhand, second place was secured by Miss Samaim Prabha and Abhishek Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir and third place was secured by Miss Bhumika Kumari and Miss Shreya Aggarwal from Rajasthan. The incentive award was received by Ayush Kumar Bharti and Manas Nigam of Uttar Pradesh. The stage during the program was moderated by Yogember Poly. Dr. Naresh Chaudhary, Mahendra Kumar, Deputy Director, Finance, Anil Sati, Joint Director, IEC and officials and employees of USAX were present in the program.
