That is why we are going to tell all the laboratories that if any case is reported, then the information should be given to BMC. There are more than 200 labs in Mumbai, where if cases are reported, we will upload the information on the BMC website.
Along with this, he told that today (December 20) BMC Additional Commissioner Sudhakar Shinde had a meeting with the deans of all the hospitals, where information was taken about how prepared the BMC hospitals are? How many beds, oxygen and ICU beds are ready? Currently, beds for patients are kept in Seven Hills Hospital and Kasturba in Mumbai. Last week we had done a mock drill and the entire preparation was reviewed in an excel sheet. Due to more labs in Mumbai, more testing is done. That is why more cases are registered. But this is the winter season, that is why the number of patients suffering from flu also increases. Still, we keep in mind that if the cases increase then BMC is fully prepared. BMC has started surveillance. Masks are not needed at present. Only those people who are suffering from other diseases should wear masks.

This new variant is quite mild, that is why people will get sick only till cold fever, more serious symptoms will not be seen.
