Importance of truth in Bible, PM Modi said on Christmas
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met people of the Christian community at his residence on the occasion of Christmas. Addressing the people of the community, PM Modi said that I have an old and close relationship with the Christian community. While holding the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat, I used to frequently meet the Christian community and its leaders. The PM said that the Christian community has played an important role in giving direction to the society. Jesus established a better society.
Had the pleasure of meeting the Pope
Whereas PM Modi expressed happiness for organizing the program at his residence. He said that a few years ago I had the privilege of meeting the Pope, which was a great privilege for me. That was a memorable moment for me. PM Modi said, Christmas is the day when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. This day is an opportunity to remember his life. Jesus worked to create a society that was fair and inclusive. These values are guiding us like a gliding light in the development of our country.
The Bible gave great importance to truth
In the program, PM Modi said, it is said in the Holy Bible that whatever gift and power God has given us, we should use it in the service of others. Truth is given great importance in the Bible. It has been said that only truth will show us the path to salvation. We can move forward together by focusing on our shared values and heritage.
Poverty hurts the dignity of a person
He further said that, in one of his Christmas addresses, the Pope had prayed to Jesus Christ that those who are working to end poverty should get his blessings. He believes that poverty hurts the dignity of a person. These words of the Pope reflect the same spirit which is our mantra for development. Our mantra is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. As a government, we are ensuring that the benefits of development reach every individual and no one remains untouched by it.
