The central government launched the Umeed portal for the registration of Waqf properties under the Waqf Amendment Act. On this, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams said that the amendment bill has been passed. However, some of its subjects are pending in the court. But to take forward the activities of the Waqf Amendment Bill, Union Minority Welfare Minister Kiren Rijiju has launched the portal.
Shadab Shams said that after the launch of the Central Umeed Portal, now the common man will be able to see the Waqf properties online. In the coming 6 months, the Uttarakhand Waqf Board will register all its Waqf properties online. All Waqf management and knowledgeable people will be informed in this regard and an awareness campaign will be run. He told that making Waqf properties online is a 3-tier step. In which there are maker, checker and approval. That is, someone will first register his property. The Waqf Board will check that property. After this, finally it will go to CWC for approval. This process will bring transparency.
Apart from this, while giving information about the campaign being run by the Uttarakhand Waqf Board to remove illegal encroachments on Waqf properties, he said that schools and other basic structures will be developed for poor Muslims on the properties which will be removed from the encroachment. Schools and colleges for modern education, especially for daughters, will be built on the Waqf properties vacated from the encroachment. Which will be useful not only for Muslim daughters but also for other people. Apart from this, hospitals will be built in which Muslim society gets priority and along with that other people will also get its benefit. Apart from this, efforts will also be made to provide employment to poor Muslims through commercial activities on Waqf properties. Apart from this, what work can be done on all the properties while playing a role in the society? A decision will be taken after discussing with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami about this.
