10 lakh patients have availed benefits of Ayushman scheme in Uttarakhand, cards made for 54 lakh people
Even though health facilities may not be much better in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand, patients are definitely getting the benefit of free treatment under the Atal Ayushman Yojana. Till now, about 10 lakh patients of the state have got free treatment under Atal Ayushman Yojana. At the same time, Ayushman cards of 54 lakh people have been made so far. Uttarakhand government has so far spent Rs 1900 crore for free treatment under the Ayushman Card Scheme.
Atal Ayushman Yojana was started in Uttarakhand on 25 December 2018. During that time, the then Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had launched this scheme. The special feature of this scheme was that all the families living in the state of Uttarakhand could be given the benefit of free health facilities worth Rs 5 lakh. Therefore, the state of Uttarakhand became the first state in the country in which it was decided to provide the benefits of Ayushman Yojana to all the families living in the state. Five years have passed since the launch of this scheme in the state of Uttarakhand.
All the families of the state could not be covered within these 5 years. It is certain that within these 5 years, Ayushman cards have been made for 54 lakh people. Along with this, in these 5 years, 10 lakh patients have availed the benefit of free treatment under Ayushman Yojana. The state government has set a target of making Ayushman cards for all people above 5 years of age in the state by March 2024. Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the state government is trying to ensure that 100 percent of the people of the state get the benefits of this scheme. Along with this, this scheme is being promoted on a large scale across the state.
