Corona is spreading in Uttarakhand! New sub-variant JN.1 confirmed; Government on alert
Amidst the increasing number of corona infections across the country, a new sub-variant JN.1 has been found in Uttarakhand. A few days ago, the sample of a 72-year-old woman found corona infected was sent for genome sequencing. In which JN.1 variant was confirmed. It is a matter of relief that the woman has now recovered and is completely healthy. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Corona has been confirmed in a foreign woman in Rishikesh, who has been isolated. Also, genome sequencing of the sample is being done.
Three cases of Corona have come to light
There have been three cases of corona in Uttarakhand in the last fortnight. Among these, the sample of a 77-year-old man admitted in a private hospital was sent to Delhi for testing. But after giving the Corona test report, the concerned lab destroyed the sample. On which genome sequencing of the said sample could not be done.
Corona was confirmed in a 72 year old woman
Corona was also confirmed in a 72-year-old woman in Dehradun. The woman suffering from thyroid and heart disease was admitted to a private hospital located on EC Road. Who was shifted to Doon Medical College Hospital after the corona test report from a private lab came positive. The woman remained hospitalized for four days. On January 4, he was discharged from the hospital and sent to home isolation.
The woman has recovered
Dr. Pankaj Singh, State Nodal Officer of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program in the state, said that the woman’s sample was sent to Doon Medical College for genome sequencing. In which JN.1 variant has been confirmed. But there is no need to panic. The woman has recovered and is completely healthy.
Corona has not spread at community level
Dr. Pankaj Singh said that there is no evidence yet that Corona has spread at the community level anywhere in the state. Only isolated cases have been reported. Still, people should take precautions at their own level. Take care of mask, physical distance and sanitization. This will protect you not only from corona but also from other infections. He said that Corona has been confirmed in a foreign woman in Rishikesh on Wednesday.
