His first visit was to Maharashtra and here in Solapur he laid the foundation stone of 8 AMRUT projects worth Rs 2 thousand crores. PM Modi inaugurated AMRUT 2.0 scheme in Solapur, Maharashtra. Here the PM said that the pledge we had taken for the thousands of poor laborers of Solapur is being fulfilled. The country’s largest society has been inaugurated under the PM Awas Yojana. The PM said that he looked at the houses and thought that I wish I too had got a chance to live in such a house in my childhood. The PM became emotional and said that when he sees these things, he feels satisfied. When the dreams of thousands of families come true, their blessings are the biggest asset.

Only slogans were raised to eliminate poverty – PM Modi

In Solapur, Maharashtra, PM Modi said that slogans of ‘Garibi Hatao’ continued to be raised in the country for a long time. But despite these slogans poverty did not end. The PM said that in the third term of our central government, in my next term, India will be among the top three economies of the world. I have guaranteed to the people of India that in my next term, I will bring India among the top three countries in the world. This is my guarantee.

What is AMRUT 2.0?

AMRUT 2.0 is designed to provide universal coverage of water supply and coverage of sewerage/septage management through functional taps to all households in all statutory towns in the country. CM Eknath Shinde greeted the PM in Solapur. Along with this, Governor Ramesh Bais and Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present.
