Uttarakhand: List will be finalized by February 15, Congress Screening Committee meeting held with Lok Sabha election contenders

Former Union Minister and senior National Congress leader and Chairman of the Screening Committee, Bhakta Charan Das reached the Congress state headquarters. Along with him, committee member Neeraj Dangi also reached the party headquarters. During this, Committee Chairman Bhakta Charan Das held an important meeting with top party leaders, PEC members as well as Lok Sabha coordinators and potential candidates in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Names will be finalized by 15th February
During this time, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former state president Ganesh Godyal, party state president Karan Mahara and many MLAs were present at the party headquarters. In this meeting, the contenders presented their views regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in front of Bhakta Charan Das. He said that the list of all the claimants of Uttarakhand will be finalized by 15th February.
Contenders will be screened
He said that after discussions with CWC members, senior leaders and AICC members, the names of possible contenders will be sent to the election steering committee of the state. Contenders willing to contest Lok Sabha elections will be screened by the State Congress Committee.
The process started from today
He told that after this the State Congress Committee will send those names to the Screening Committee. After this, the process will be carried out and discussed in the screening committee. Bhakta Charan Das said that after all the seats are cleared by the screening committee, it will be sent to CEC. He said that the process of screening the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections has been started from today. He expressed hope that perhaps the process of candidate selection of Uttarakhand will be completed by February 15. During this, the Chairman of the Committee also discussed with all the senior leaders the preparations for the arrival of National President Malikarjun Kharge in Uttarakhand on 28th.
