Kashi, Ujjain, Ayodhya… Now North East will benefit from Kamakhya Corridor

Modi government is laying a lot of emphasis on building corridors of famous temples across the country. On the lines of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Kamakhya Temple Corridor has now been started in Assam. The temple will be given a new look at a cost of Rs 498 crore, so that devotees can easily have darshan of the Mother Goddess. PM Narendra Modi said that our temples, our pilgrimages are indelible signs of the journey of our civilization. After the completion of Kamakhya Temple Corridor Project, a large number of devotees will come to this Shakti Peeth and this will give a boost to the tourism sector of the entire North-East. In fact, whenever people go to Assam or North East from UP, South India or any other corner of the country, they definitely go to visit Mother Kamakhya. With the construction of the corridor here, more number of devotees will come for darshan and will also stay further to visit the North East. The Prime Minister claimed that the people in power after independence could not understand the importance of places of worship. Modi said, ‘It will become the gateway to the North-East.’ He said that ‘Kamakhya Divya Lok Project’ will completely change the experience of pilgrimage to this Shakti Peeth. Maa Kamakhya or Kameshwari temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas on earth.

The Prime Minister himself told how the construction of Maa Kamakhya Divya Lok Corridor will boost tourism. In fact, today there is increasing enthusiasm about tourism and pilgrimage in the country. After the construction of Kashi Corridor, a record number of devotees are reaching there. In the last one year, eight and a half crore people went to Kashi. More than five crore people visited Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain and more than 19 lakh devotees visited Kedar Dham.

Modi said that only a few days have passed since the consecration of life in Ayodhya Dham. More than 24 lakh people have visited Ayodhya in just 12 days. After Maa Kamakhya becomes divine world, we are going to see a similar scene here also. He said that increasing the number of pilgrims to such religious places also boosts the livelihood of poor people.

Five other corridors in the country have been completed or work is in progress. Work is going on on Devbhoomi Corridor in Dwarka, Gujarat and Banke Bihari Mandir Corridor in Mathura. Mahakaal Lok in Ujjain will be built in 2022 for Rs 850 crores. Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor has been built for Rs 332 crores. Jagannath Temple is built in Heritage Corridor, Puri for Rs. 800 crores.
