1 crore houses will get 300 units of free electricity, PM Modi announced

To promote solar energy and sustainable progress, the Central Government is soon launching ‘PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’. The scheme aims to illuminate one crore homes by providing free electricity up to 300 units. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that there will be an investment of more than Rs 75,000 crore in this project.

These facilities will be available through subsidy
PM Modi said that from concrete subsidies to heavily concessional bank loans, the central government will ensure that no cost burden falls on the people. The Prime Minister said that all stakeholders will be integrated through a national online portal. Let us tell you that this subsidy will be given directly into people’s bank accounts.
PM Modi said that to popularize the scheme at the grassroots level, urban local bodies and panchayats will be encouraged to promote rooftop solar systems in their jurisdiction. PM Modi said that this scheme will generate more income, lower electricity bills and employment for the people.
