Uttarakhand: Government removed additional secretaries from the draft committee formed for the rules of UCC bill, reason given

After passing the Uniform Civil Code Bill in the Assembly, all the Additional Secretaries who were included as ex-officio members have been removed from the draft committee formed by the government to prepare its rules.
The Home Department has issued an order in this regard. According to the order issued, the committee now has a total of five members. The committee will be headed by former Chief Secretary Shatrughan Singh. Apart from these, Prof. of Doon University is in the committee. Surekha Dangwal, social worker Manu Gaur will remain as members.
Additional Director General of Police Amit Sinha has been made a member in place of Additional Secretaries. While Local Commissioner Ajay Mishra is the member secretary of the committee. According to sources, some senior officers had objections regarding seniority regarding the inclusion of Additional Secretaries in the Draft Committee.
