Farmer leaders claim, Punjab youth died in Haryana Police firing at Khanauri border
Haryana Police opened fire directly on agitating farmers trying to cross the Haryana border and a 23-year-old youth was killed in alleged police firing.
The deceased was shot in the head and was taken to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala along with two other youths who were injured in the firing. The deceased has been identified as Shubhakaran Singh of Ballo village in Bathinda district. He was the only brother of three sisters.
Patiala Civil Surgeon said that Shubhakaran Singh was brought dead and 2 other youths were injured and have now been admitted to the hospital.
He said that the deceased youth was shot at the back of his head. But it is not yet clear whether it was a bullet or a plastic bullet. The picture will become clear after post-op.
Meanwhile, Haryana Police has been firing tear gas shells on Shambhu and Khanauri border since morning. Farmer leaders Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Swaran Singh Pandher along with other leaders marched peacefully towards the Haryana border near Shambhu, but the Haryana Police fired tear gas shells at them.
