Under the Nanda Gaura Scheme of the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department in the Secretariat, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred an amount of Rs 358.3 crore to 1 lakh beneficiary girls through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT). Also, on this occasion, an amount of Rs 3.58 crore was also transferred to the beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana.

During this, CM Dhami said that various schemes are being run by our government with the aim of securing the future of daughters. Through Vatsalya Yojana, the government is continuously working to make the future of destitute children safe and bright.

He said that earlier under the Nanda Devi Kanya Yojana, he had announced in the Assembly that 32,361 born girls who were deprived of the scheme from 2008-09 to 2016-17 would be given benefit at the rate of Rs 15 thousand, which was approved by him. It has also been fulfilled today.

What is the plan

Nanda Gaura Yojana is also called Nanda Devi Kanya Yojana. Under the scheme, Uttarakhand government provides an amount of Rs 50 thousand to provide higher education to girls. Along with this, the government also gives Rs 11,000 on the birth of a daughter.
