BJP made Kangana Ranaut the Lok Sabha candidate, the actress said – I am feeling honored
After being declared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi Lok Sabha seat, actress Kangana Ranaut said she is eager to officially join the political party and become a trusted public servant. After offering prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple in Gujarat in November 2023, he had hinted at entering politics. In its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the BJP named the four-time National Award winner as the party candidate from her birthplace Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh.

Ranaut, a vocal supporter of the ruling party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said in a post on Instagram that she was honored to join the BJP. Ranaut (37) posted on social media platform Instagram, “My dear India and Bharatiya Janata Party’s own party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always received my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP congratulated me in my birthplace Himachal Pradesh.” , has declared me as my Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi (constituency).” She said, ”I comply with the decision of the high command on contesting the Lok Sabha elections. Ranaut had said in 2022 that she had a keen interest in politics but had no plans to join it professionally. Apart from him, BJP has fielded actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram in ‘Ramayana’ directed by Ramanand Sagar, from Meerut Lok Sabha seat. Recently, Govil and playback singer Anuradha Paudwal had joined BJP. Ranaut, Govil and Paudwal were among several film personalities who attended the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at the newly constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya in January.
