Left’s flag in JNU student union elections, ABVP defeated on all four posts
After counting of 4743 votes in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Student Union Election 2024, Left candidate Dhananjay Singh has won the post of President by defeating Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidate Umesh C Ajmira by 922 votes. Along with this, the Left has also won the remaining three posts.
There is an atmosphere of celebration in the campus after the Left’s victory on all four seats in the JNU Students Union elections. Let us tell you that Dhananjay of Left was elected for the post of President, Avijit Ghosh was elected for the post of Vice President, Priyanshi Arya (BAPSA Left supported) was elected as General Secretary and Mo Sajid was elected for the post of Joint Secretary.

Dhananjay Singh elected president

In the elections held after a gap of four years, Dhananjay of All India Students’ Association (AISA) won 2,598 votes. Won the JNUSU President’s election by securing 1,676 votes, while Umesh C Ajmeera of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) secured 1,676 votes.
Avijit Ghosh became vice president
Avijit Ghosh of Students Federation of India (SFI) won the post of Vice President by defeating Deepika Sharma of ABVP. Left-backed BAPSA candidate Priyanshi Arya won the post of general secretary by defeating ABVP’s Arjun Anand. After the election committee canceled the nomination of leftist organizations’ candidate Swati Singh, leftist organizations had given their support to Priyanshi Arya. Mohammad Sajid, candidate of leftist organizations, won the post of Joint Secretary by defeating Govind of ABVP.
