Uttarakhand: People of Champawat warned of boycotting elections, MP had adopted, village is of freedom fighters

Every MP adopts a village from his parliamentary constituency for the development of villages. But the condition of the adopted village of Almora MP Ajay Tamta is different. Neither roads nor education, any system is good in the MP’s Adarsh village. Villagers are demanding for this. The villagers have even warned of boycotting the elections.

Goshni village is 28 km away from Champawat district headquarters
Goshini village, adopted by MP Ajay Tamta, is located about 28 km from Champawat district headquarters. MP Adarsh village Goshni is longing for basic facilities today. The village has neither health facilities, drinking water, education nor roads. People have been demanding these facilities for a long time. In the year 2022, MP Ajay Tamta had adopted Goshni village on March 8. The current population of the village is around 2600 and there are 1400 voters in this village.

Villagers accused the MP
The villagers of Goshni village have made many allegations like never visiting the village after adopting the village and not listening to the problems of the people. Villagers say that works like roads in the village, Dharamshala, solar lights, CCTV in the area, construction of tin shed, drinking water tank, public toilet, dustbin etc. were done under the funds of Gram Panchayat, Gram Vikas, MNREGA but no action has been taken from the Sansag. No work was done either.

We should be given roads, education, health, water facilities
Villagers say that a lot of work needs to be done in terms of roads, education, health, water etc. Neither water is available in the village as per requirement nor the primary health center has been upgraded. The villagers took the initiative to build a big lift drinking water scheme, build tourist accommodation equipped with modern facilities, open a Kendriya Vidyalaya, upgrade the primary health centre, open a women’s degree college, construct a procession house, open a gas warehouse, improve the standards in GIC and GGIC. Demands have been made for posting of corresponding teachers etc.

MP not seen since adoption
The villagers say that ever since MP Ajay Tamta adopted the village, they have not seen him. That is, since then the MP was never seen in the village. Could not talk to the MP about all the problems ranging from the problem of village road. The villagers say that the MP adopted the village but did not do any work.
