Tis Hazari court has taken cognizance of the status report of Delhi Police on the matter of taking action against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for making a controversial statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Metropolitan Magistrate Chhatinder Singh has summoned the investigating officer in the case.

The Metropolitan Magistrate has asked the investigating officer posted at Sabzi Mandi police station to appear before the court and clarify the situation. The next hearing in the case will be on May 24.

Delhi Police said it is a matter of Karnataka
On the other hand, Delhi Police filed a status report in the case and said that Kharge had given the statement against the PM in Karnataka and hence the jurisdiction is outside, hence no case can be made out in Delhi regarding it. On the other hand, advocate Gagan Gandhi, appearing for the complainant, said that this is a case of making a provocative statement and the statement of the Congress President has been circulated across the country through internet media and many other mediums.

Asked to appear before investigating officer
He said that action can be taken by filing an FIR in this matter. After listening to the argument of the advocate, the magistrate directed the investigating officer to appear in the court and clarify the situation. Earlier, the court had issued a notice to the SHO of Sabzi Mandi police station asking him to file the action taken report in the case.

Gave this controversial statement on PM Modi
Advocate Ravinder Gupta has demanded an FIR against Kharge in the case of giving statement against the PM. Kharge said that the Congress President had given a controversial statement against Prime Minister Modi in a public meeting in Karnataka on April 27. Kharge had said that Modi is like a poisonous snake, whether you consider it poison or not, but if you taste it you will die.

However, when BJP raised its issue, Kharge clarified in the next day’s public meeting that he had given the above statement regarding BJP and RSS. The complainant said that he was associated with RSS and he was deeply hurt by the statement. He had given a complaint in this regard to the Sabzi Mandi police station, but the police has not taken any action.
