Israel: Hezbollah fired dozens of missiles towards Israel, Iron Dome anti-missile system shot them down in the air
Hezbollah fired dozens of missiles towards northern Israel amid fears of retaliation for the air strike on the Iranian embassy. Iran-backed Hezbollah fired a barrage of missiles towards northern Israel on Friday, which were intercepted in time by the country’s defense systems, The Times of Israel reports.
About 40 rockets fired towards Israel
The IDF said that about 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel. There were no immediate reports of anyone being injured in the attack claimed by Hezbollah. Following the attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that its air defense forces shot down two explosive-laden drones launched by Hezbollah in northern Israel.
Sirens were also sounded as shrapnel fell after projectiles directed towards northern Israel were intercepted. The attack came amid fears of retaliation by Tehran following an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Syria that killed two of its top generals, The Times of Israel reported.
