200 Vice Chancellors and academics wrote an open letter against Rahul Gandhi, demanding legal action.

Before the third phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, Vice Chancellors and academicians of many universities across the country have written an open letter against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

In this letter, legal action has been demanded against Rahul Gandhi regarding his statement. This letter has been written by Vice Chancellors and academicians of about 200 universities across the country. Rahul Gandhi’s allegations have been condemned in this letter.

It has been said in this letter that it has come to our notice from a tweet that the appointment of Vice Chancellors of universities is done on the basis of relations with some organizations and not on the basis of merit. Due to this, questions have been raised on the appointment of Vice Chancellors. We reject such claims outright.

He has said that the process of appointment of Vice Chancellors is being done in a transparent manner on the basis of merit. The Vice Chancellor takes care of the dignity and morality of the institutions in his work. If we look at global rankings, there has been a significant change in Indian universities.

It has been said in the letter that the process under which Vice Chancellors are selected. He is very strict and transparent.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

Rahul Gandhi had given a statement regarding the process of election of university heads. He had said that the appointment of Vice Chancellors is being done on the basis of relations with some organizations, keeping aside merit. But the vice-chancellors and other senior academicians of these universities have denied this allegation.

Let us tell you that the joint statement has the signatures of Vice Chancellors and academicians of about 180 universities. Those who signed it also include heads of Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sahitya Akademi, National Book Trust, AICTE, UGC etc.
