Uttarakhand: DM reached Hemkund Sahib after walking 18 km, took stock of the arrangements, gave these instructions to the officials

Before the start of the Yatra to Hemkund Sahib, Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana along with departmental officials walked a distance of 18 kilometers from Govindghat Gurudwara to Hemkund Sahib and took stock of the arrangements on the Yatra route.

The DM directed the officials to streamline all the arrangements on the footpath before the journey to make the journey to Hemkund Sahib smooth and pleasant. Let us tell you that the Yatra to Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Temple is going to start from May 25 this year.

There is still about 8 feet of snow around Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara. Here Laxman Temple and Hemkund Sarovar are also completely covered with snow, however, army personnel have cleared the snow on Hemkunt Sahib road and made the movement smooth.

The District Magistrate directed that proper arrangements should be made for turning improvement, railing, parking, horse halt on the walking route and rain shelter, passenger shed, benches, signage including electricity, water, toilets, cleanliness, health and safety for the convenience of the devotees. Go. Proper arrangements of hot water should also be made for horses and mules.

The DM directed the Jal Sansthan to ensure smooth supply of pure drinking water at all the stand posts and water ATMs on the Yatra route. The District Magistrate also directed the Eco Development Committee to paint the new toilets constructed in Pulna, Bhundar, Jangal Chatti, Ghangharia, Atlakoti and clean the travel route, and to make proper arrangements for electricity and water in all the accessible toilets.

Instructed the police department to make all security arrangements during the yatra and also deploy DDRF personnel along with SDRF. During this, the District Magistrate took stock of all the other arrangements related to the yatra including Ghangharia helipad, police station, outpost, hospital and directed to make the yatra to Hemkund Sahib, Lokpal Temple and Valley of Flowers pleasant.

Let us tell you that PWD has completed the improvement work of 72 out of 84 danger turns on the Sahib Yatra route. The remaining work is in progress. A 165 meter long bridge is ready in Mundar village. On the track from Pulna to Hemkund, 14 rain shelters, 2 passenger sheds and 282 benches have been prepared to accommodate passengers.

The work of providing smooth drinking water is going on at 30 PTSP and TTSP located on Hemkund Yatra route. Work has also started on a new drinking water line from Pushpavati river to Ghangaria. A bypass has been built in Ghangaria for horses and mules. Two new toilets have been built at Atlakoti Talli and Malli.
