Uttarakhand: Drinking water crisis arising due to increasing heat, politics intensified over water shortage and power cut

Along with electricity, there is a problem of water problem in the capital. Due to extra load on the electricity department, problems with irrigation and drinking water have started. While on one hand people are worried due to lack of water, on the other hand politics has also started regarding this.
Drinking water crisis arising due to increasing heat
With the increase in temperature in Uttarakhand, the risk of electricity as well as drinking water crisis is also increasing. The availability of electricity and drinking water seems to be facing problems not only in urban areas but also in rural areas. There is a power cut in the capital by the Energy Department due to which the general public seems quite worried. Due to power cut and extra load, water tube wells are also not running on time. Due to which water crisis has also arisen in the capital.
Power cuts are happening along with water
The mercury has crossed 40 degrees in the capital Doon. Due to this, electricity consumption has also reached record levels. This time the demand for electricity has increased more in May as compared to May last year. The demand for electricity in the entire state including Doon reached 57 MU. Whereas in June last year the maximum demand had gone up to 52 MU. Let us inform that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also held a meeting regarding power cut and drinking water crisis. After which now there is hope that the situation can get better.
Politics intensified over water shortage
Politics has also intensified regarding power cut and drinking water problem. Congress state spokesperson Sheeshpal Bisht says that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wakes up very late. Be it the matter of arrangements in Chardham Yatra, drinking water crisis or power cut, the opposition has been trying to wake up the government for the last one month but the government is not taking any notice. Asking questions to the government, he said, who is responsible for the rampant power cuts and drinking water crisis?
Congress gives only negative statements
BJP is also retaliating on Congress’s allegations. BJP’s state media in-charge Manveer Chauhan says that all efforts are being made to ensure that drinking water is available to the common people and alternative routes are being found. To solve the water problem, water tankers are being sent to the streets.
A meeting has also been held by the Chief Minister regarding power cut and it will be resolved soon. While platforming the allegations of Congress, Manveer Chauhan said that Congress only works to find the evils of the government. But Uttarakhand is facing less power cuts as compared to Congress ruled states. Along with this, he said that electricity is being available in Uttarakhand at a lower rate than the Congress ruled states. But Congress will not say those things, Congress only gives negative statements.
