Maharashtra: Why was there a ruckus in Powai, Mumbai, heavy stone pelting on police who arrived with bulldozer

There has been a big uproar in Bhimnagar of Powai during the demolition action of BMC. Although Powai is seen as an elite area, there has been an incident of stone pelting on the BMC team and police in Bhim Nagar of Powai. It is being told that five to seven policemen were injured in this incident. Along with this, the videos of the incident are going viral on social media at this time. It is told that when BMC took action to demolish the slum, the angry mob directly tried to remove the police and stone pelting took place.
What is the matter?
A few days ago when we were voters, we and our house were government, but now why are we and our house non-government? Local people are asking such questions. There are about two hundred to three hundred huts located in Bhimnagar area of Powai. On May 30, BMC had sent a notice and instructed to vacate the house. It is shown in the video that when the BMC and police teams reached for demolition action today, the angry mob took drastic steps to save the house. Seeing the anger of the people, BMC has immediately stopped this action. Also, a large number of police force has been deployed. Some videos are going viral on social media that common citizens have also been injured in this incident.
BMC could not get the place vacated
It is said that the said place is reserved for a government colony but the police has tried to remove the unauthorized encroachment done at this place many times before, but the place could not be vacated due to the protest of the angry crowd. Today, as soon as the BMC team entered again for demolition, people shouted to stop the action. If we become homeless amidst the onset of monsoon, then where will we have shelter. Apart from this, Powaikar should come forward to save our homes! Such an appeal is being made by the citizens. We have been living here for the last 20 years and now houses are being fixed there in connivance with an unauthorized builder and the local people allege that we are being forced to vacate the place.
