Israeli agents entered Gaza posing as Palestinians and rescued 4 hostages from Hamas captivity in a filmy style
There has been a war going on between Israel (Israel-Palestine War) and the Palestinian organization Hamas for 9 months. On 7 October 2023, Hamas fired more than 5 thousand rockets towards Israel from the Gaza Strip. Hamas fighters infiltrated and killed many people. More than 240 people were also taken hostage and taken to Gaza. Since then Israel has been taking retaliatory action on Gaza. Israel rescued 4 hostages from Hamas captivity last Saturday. The Israeli army carried out this operation amid firing at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza.
274 Palestinians also died during this operation. Apart from this, more than 400 people were injured. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that 116 people were killed. Those rescued from Hamas captivity include 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov, 22-year-old Almog Meir Jan, 41-year-old Shlomi Ziv and 26-year-old Noa Argamani. Noa Argamani has narrated her ordeal while recalling the days spent in Hamas captivity.
The Nuseirat refugee camp is located deep inside the Palestinian territory in the middle of the Gaza Strip. Hamas had kept Israeli woman Noa Argamani hostage in this camp. A report in the ‘Washington Post’ said that Israeli commandos had launched a secret operation to free Argamani and the other three hostages. The commandos had entered the camp as undercover agents.
On the day of the rescue operation, i.e. Saturday at 11 am, Israeli soldiers entered the apartment where the four, including Argamani, were kept. According to the report, Noa Arghamani says, “Hamas fighters tried their best to break my morale. I was told that my family has left me to die. My mother is vacationing in Greece. No one will come to pick me up. I will be killed.” Arghamani says, “I was so scared that when Israeli commandos came to rescue us, I thought they were going to kill us.”
The report says that this operation, which was planned for weeks, was helped by thousands of soldiers and advanced technical support. Not only this, with American help, Israeli intelligence analyzed digital data, drone footage and communication intercepts to locate the hostages.
According to the report, the Israeli army had conducted a mock-drill of the rescue operation to trace the location of the hostages in the Nuseirat refugee camp. This rescue operation reminds us of the famous Operation Entebbe in 1976. This anti-terrorist operation was launched in Uganda to investigate the hijacking of an international civil flight operated by Air France on the Tel Aviv-Paris route. But the Israeli army considered the morning time suitable for the operation.
The mission was started at dawn, with Israel Defense Force (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and other top security officers monitoring from a command room. Special forces hidden in secret vehicles reached the target area. Eyewitnesses said that when Israeli soldiers confronted Hamas terrorists, firing suddenly started.
During this time, despite initial success in saving Arghamani, a lot of effort had to be made to free the remaining hostages. However, eventually all four hostages were freed.
