Uttarakhand: Almora forest fire accident, injured airlifted and shifted to Delhi AIIMS, CM himself taking updates

Four forest workers have died in the fire in Binsar forest of Almora. Four forest workers have been badly burnt. The injured were being treated at Sushila Tiwari Hospital till now. On the instructions of the CM, two injured have been airlifted and shifted to Delhi AIIMS.

Two employees airlifted

Forest worker Krishna Kumar (21) and PRD jawan Kundan Negi (44) have been airlifted and shifted to Delhi AIIMS. While forest worker Bhagat Singh Bhoj (38) and forest worker Kailash Bhatt will be airlifted soon. Let us tell you that Krishna Kumar is 82 percent burnt. His condition is said to be very critical.

How did four forest workers die in the Almora forest fire accident?

On receiving information about the forest fire, eight forest personnel including the driver went to Vinsar Gate to control the forest fire. A few kms before Vinsar Mahadev temple, four forest personnel got down from the vehicle and started observing the condition of the forest fire below the mountain. Suddenly, four forest workers caught in the fire from below with strong winds died on the spot. While the other four forest workers in the vehicle went a few meters ahead and tried to save their lives by jumping from the vehicle. All four forest workers were also injured after being caught in the fire.

Two officers suspended

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a tough stand in the forest fire accident. CM Dhami has suspended the Conservator North and DFO Almora for negligence. While CCF Kumaon has been attached. Chief Minister Dhami says that negligence will not be tolerated in any way.
