Uttarakhand: Due to heavy rains, 20700 cusecs of water was released from Gaula Barrage, alert issued

It has been raining heavily in Haldwani for the past one week. Due to torrential rains, many areas of the city have been flooded, while now 20 thousand 7 hundred cusecs of water has been released in the Gaula river.

Due to continuous rains in the mountains, 20700 cusecs of water has been released in the Gaula river from the Gaula Barrage on Sunday. Along with this, people living in the areas adjacent to the Gaula river have been appealed to be cautious. People of Shantipuri area have been asked to be cautious. While people living on the river bank have been asked to move to safer areas.

Waterlogging in many areas

Due to continuous rains, many areas of Haldwani have been waterlogged. After getting information about waterlogging at Kusumkheda intersection, City Magistrate AP Bajpai reached the spot. He and tehsildar Sachin Kumar have asked Public Works Department officials to divert water to deal with the situation.
