Six lakh Kanwadis collected Ganga water from Haridwar, record is being broken
In the year 2024, the Kanwar Yatra (Kanwar Yatra 2024) has started from 22nd July. In the last three days, about six lakh Shiva devotees Kanwariyas reached Haridwar and filled Gangajal. Haridwar Police and Administration were working at the ground level for the last several months to improve the arrangements for the Kanwar fair.
Six lakh Kanwariyas filled Gangajal from Haridwar
According to the data released by the administration, till July 24, a total of six lakh Kanwariyas filled Gangajal in Haridwar. Apart from this, the number of Kanwar vehicles entering the district on last Wednesday was 29 thousand 911. Out of which the number of two-wheelers was 15 thousand 353. At the same time, small vehicles were 12 thousand 830 and the number of big vehicles was 17 thousand 28.
Six Kanwariyas drowned in the ghats while bathing
According to the information received from the administration, 117 Kanwariyas were lost in the fair on Wednesday. Out of which 111 devotees were reunited with their loved ones. While efforts are on to reunite six devotees with their families. Apart from this, six devotees drowned while bathing in different ghats. They were rescued by SDRF jawans.
