Truth and Reality

Why did her ministers also flee to India with Sheikh Hasina, why did they return now?

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will probably stay in India for some time. Because her plan to go to Britain is not being implemented yet. Some technical obstacles have arisen regarding her visit to Britain. Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee Bangladesh after violent protests against her government. Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Monday (August 5).

The former Prime Minister had reportedly planned to take refuge in Britain with her sister, where her family members live. However, according to the country’s immigration rules, asylum requests can only be processed if a person is in Britain and Hasina does not have a visa to travel there.

Some ministers also came along

After the violent rebellion against the Awami League government, some members (ministers) of Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet also fled with the former Prime Minister and came to India in the same plane. All these ministers also came with the former head of their government in a hurry. Because they feared that the people of Bangladesh could do anything to them in the violent rebellion. This team that reached India with Sheikh Hasina was in complete trouble because the crowd had entered the Prime Minister’s residence as well. Now that a new government has been formed in the country, they are returning to Bangladesh. So that they can go there and take stock of the situation. However, all of them will stay in safe places for the time being after returning to Bangladesh. However, some sources are saying that these ministers who came with Sheikh Hasina have left for unknown places abroad.

Hasina is living in a safe house

Sheikh Hasina came to India on Monday with her sister Sheikh Rehana and some of her close aides in an army Hercules plane. They landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad near Delhi and are living in a safe house. Six army officers had come to India with Sheikh Hasina for her security. A day after ensuring her safety, they returned by Hercules plane. One of the reasons for the members of the Hasina government leaving India is that the ousted Prime Minister is considering the option of which country she will take refuge in.

According to a report by India Today TV, due to leaving Bangladesh in a hurry, Sheikh Hasina and her colleagues could not even bring extra clothes or items of daily use. Government sources said that members of the protocol office deployed with the Bangladeshi delegation helped them buy clothes and daily items.

Permission to stay in India until asylum is granted

India has allowed Sheikh Hasina to stay in India until she gets asylum in another country. Sources said that Indian security personnel and protocol officers are helping the members of the delegation to overcome stress and shock. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was the first person to meet Sheikh Hasina and members of her delegation. Both sides have discussed the present and future plans of the ousted Prime Minister.
