Jammu and Kashmir: Major accident on Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan road, devotees injured, relief and rescue work begins
A major accident took place on Monday on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan road in Jammu and Kashmir. A landslide has occurred near Panchhi helipad, in which devotees are reported to be injured. At the same time, two female devotees have also died. The women who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as Sapna, wife of Sudarshan, resident of Gyanpur Gali No. 2, Gurdaspur and Neha, resident of Kanpur, UP. Due to the rain for the last few days, a landslide has occurred on the Himkoti road. The journey is continuing through the old Sanjhi Chhat road. Meanwhile, relief and rescue work is being started by the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Landslide occurred due to bad weather
It is being told that the landslide has occurred due to bad weather. Actually, it has been raining continuously in the area for the last few hours.
Stones fell on the way to the temple
In a media report, the CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has confirmed that this incident has happened due to falling stones and landslide on the way to the temple. The disaster management team of the Shrine Board immediately reached the spot and efforts are underway to rescue and provide assistance to the affected people.
