If I am murdered like Baba Siddiqui, Rajkumar Pandian will be responsible, what did Jignesh Mevani say about Gujarat IPS

Gujarat Congress working president and Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani has targeted IPS Rajkumar Pandian. In a press conference in Ahmedabad on Monday, Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani said that Rajkumar Pandian will be responsible for the murder of my family, encounter and any other kind of damage. Mevani also expressed the fear of himself being murdered like Baba Siddiqui. Mevani said and demanded the suspension of Additional DGP Rajkumar Pandian for indecent, arrogant, angry, protocol-inappropriate behavior with an elected public representative.

Expressed fear of his own murder
Jignesh Mevani has written on social media platform X that if like Baba Siddiqui, I, my family members or anyone from my team is murdered, then only and only IPS Rajkumar Pandian will be responsible for it. The whole of Gujarat knows the character of this officer who has spent seven years in jail in a fake encounter case. No matter what happens, I will never give up the fight for the self-respect of the Dalits, backward and Bahujans of Gujarat and the country. Earlier in the press conference, Jignesh Mevani said that on October 23, the Congress Party, Dalit organizations, social organizations will protest outside the DG office.

Why Jignesh Mevani VS Rajkumar Pandian?

Rajkumar Pandian came into the news in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter. He is an officer of the 1998 batch. Currently he is the Additional DGP Crime in Gujarat Police. Apart from this, he is also the Additional DGP of SC/ST and human rights related issues. In such a situation, Jignesh Mevani had reached him with the expectation of action on all the issues. Pandian was acquitted by the Bombay High Court in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case in 2018. There has been no response from Pandian on this issue.

Mevani had gone to meet Pandian

Jignesh Mevani has been raising the issues of oppression of Dalits in the entire country including Gujarat. In the last months in Gujarat, he had raised the cases of encroachment on the lands of Dalits and tribals. When satisfactory action was not taken in these cases, he went with the delegation to meet IPS Rajkumar Pandian. It is alleged that during this time Pandian misbehaved with Jignesh Mevani and said that if you are an MLA, then why are you wearing a T-shirt? Pandian also asked Mevani to bring out his mobile.
