UUSDA’s efforts gave strength to the development of Uttarakhand, Rs 8878 crore approved for infrastructure

Development work can be carried forward under various schemes in 16 cities of Uttarakhand. For this, the state has received approval of a big budget from some other banks including the Asian Development Bank. A total of Rs 8878 crore has been approved for Uttarakhand in various schemes. Which the state has to spend in different schemes till the year 2030. If seen, Uttarakhand has to spend more than 3 crores every day for development schemes. Uttarakhand Urban Area Development Agency was trying to get budget approval in the schemes made for various cities for a long time. In such a situation, the officials of UUSDA have achieved success in this.

Working on development schemes with four banks

Uttarakhand Urban Area Development Agency (UUSDA) is working with four banks for development schemes in various cities. These banks will fulfill the budget requirement for the schemes. In this, up to 75% grant will be received from various banks, while the remaining 25% will have to be spent by the state government in the schemes. The banks with whose help UUSDA is working include Asian Development Bank (ADB), European Investment Bank (UEB), German Bank KFW and Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

Work started on schemes

IAS officer Chandresh Yadav, Project Director of Uttarakhand Urban Area Development Agency, has got the budget approved for the schemes for the state and has also started work on many schemes. Most of these are development works related to Asian Development Bank which are going on in various cities of the state. With the help of Asian Development Bank, efforts are being made to reduce the congestion of Haldwani city and for this, work is going on to build a 5 to 6 storey administrative building. All the government offices of Haldwani city will be brought to this administrative building. Apart from this, a bus terminal is also being built which will be established near this building.

With the help of Asian Development Bank, drinking water scheme in Champawat, drinking water scheme and sewerage scheme in Vikas Nagar, Kichha drinking water supply scheme have been identified. At present, Rs 2447 crore has been approved for the schemes related to Asian Development Bank.

Drinking water network is being developed

With the help of European Investment Bank, a scheme of Rs 2766 crore has been approved. In this, Pithoragarh, Kashipur, Rudrapur and Sitarganj border towns have been selected. 280 km drinking water network is being developed in Pithoragarh, in which 13500 domestic connections will be added. 9 reservoirs will also be constructed here, in which drinking water purification plant of 7.5 MLD capacity is also being installed. Apart from this, sewerage purification plant of 6.5 MLD capacity will be installed.

539 km drinking water network will be developed in Rudrapur city. Which will solve the problems of drinking water in this area. 553 km drinking water network will be built in Kashipur. 54780 domestic connections will be given from this. 134 km drinking water network will be prepared in Sitarganj, there is a proposal to add 8529 domestic connections from this.

Schemes running in Dehradun and Haridwar

Under the Asian Development Bank, various schemes are already running in Dehradun and Haridwar city and the Uttarakhand government has been working with the Asian Development Bank since 2008. In this way, a budget of Rs 5213 crore has been received from these two banks so far. Water supply and sewerage scheme budget has been approved in Dehradun and Nainital. Under which a total of 1248 crores have been approved, which is to be spent by 2028 with the help of Asian Development Bank. With the help of German bank KFW, work is to be done on water supply, flood protection, tourism and drainage system in Rishikesh, Muni ki Reti, Swarg Ashram area. This scheme is worth Rs 1728 crore which is to be completed by 2030.

Water supply and sewerage treatment schemes

Various schemes including water supply and sewerage treatment plant are to be started in Uttarakhand with grants from banks. The good thing is that through all these schemes, related works can be completed in the important cities of Uttarakhand. But the biggest challenge in this is to complete these works on time after the approval of a budget of more than 8000 crores. For this, the agency will need sufficient experienced staff, so that work can be done on these schemes in a timely manner.
