Uttarakhand: Hill collapsed again in Quarab, traffic halted due to landslide, route diverted
Quarab, located on the border of Almora and Nainital district, has become a danger zone. Traffic has come to a halt here once again due to the hill cracking. Due to the heavy debris falling, a long queue of vehicles was formed on both sides of the road. Due to which the police had to divert the route. Now vehicles going to Almora are being sent via Ranikhet.
Hill cracked again in Quarab, traffic on NH halted
Quarab, located on Almora-Haldwani National Highway 109, has become a danger zone. Landslides are happening from the hill here every day. Due to which people are facing difficulties. On Saturday afternoon, about one and a half a day, a landslide occurred from the hill in Quarab. Due to which the movement came to a halt.
Police administration diverted the route
Due to heavy landslides, a long queue of vehicles was formed on both sides of the highway. The police administration has diverted the route. Now vehicles are being sent via Almora Lamgara-Shahar Phatak and Khairna-Ranikhet route.
Let us tell you that travelling on this route at night is not free from danger, due to which the administration has completely banned it for all vehicles from 8 pm to 6 am. But due to the continuous landslides, it is not safe to travel here even during the day. It could not be opened till Saturday night. On Sunday morning, the work of removing the debris is being done once again.
