Why does an earthquake occur?

There are many reasons behind an earthquake, such as volcanic eruption, i.e. when a volcano explodes and hot magma comes out, earthquake tremors are felt in this situation too. If any kind of explosion is done under the ground, then in that situation also the earth vibrates and it seems as if an earthquake is coming.

The most common and important reason for an earthquake is the movement between the plates. When there is a movement between the tectonic plates, an earthquake occurs. The upper surface of the earth is divided into many small plates, which include Eurasian, Indian, African, North American etc. plates.
