An emergency landing of a British F-35 fighter jet was made at Thiruvananthapuram International in Kerala. According to officials, the plane had sought permission for an emergency landing at around 9:30 pm citing lack of fuel.

A source said that the airport officials had declared an emergency in the entire airport to ensure safe landing of the F35. The plane is currently parked at the airport. Sources said that fuel will be filled only after getting approval from the concerned authorities in the central government.

F-35 is the world’s most dangerous fighter jet
This state-of-the-art fifth-generation stealth fighter jet is currently deployed in the Indo-Pacific region. It is considered to be the most dangerous fighter jet in the world. Recently it also participated in joint military exercises with the Indian Navy. This 5th Gen fighter jet is part of the carrier strike group of the British warship HMS Prince of Wales, which is currently engaged in operations.

Although it is not clear why the aircraft could not land back on its home warship, initial indications suggest that bad weather may have made a safe landing on HMS Prince of Wales impossible.
