Amid the ever-increasing tension between Israel and Iran, the Indian government has also become alert about the safety of Indian citizens living there. On Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Israel issued a new security advisory, advising all Indians to remain vigilant and avoid any unnecessary travel. The embassy said that in view of the current situation, everyone should strictly follow the safety instructions issued by the Israeli authorities. In case of any emergency, Indian citizens can contact the embassy’s helpline number or email.

Embassy’s warning on social media

The Indian Embassy shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), urging all Indians to exercise maximum caution in Israel and stay near the designated shelters as per the security protocol. The post advised to contact +972-54-7520711 and +972-54-3278392, or email cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in. It was also said that the embassy is constantly monitoring the situation and ensuring the safety of all citizens is its first priority.

Conversation between Netanyahu and PM Modi

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday night and informed him about the latest situation. In the conversation, Netanyahu shared information about the start of ‘Operation Rising Lion’, which aims to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat. PM Modi expressed India’s concern during this time and emphasized the need for peace and stability in the region. He expressed hope that the situation will soon come under control and both sides will act with restraint.

Efforts for support at the international level

The Israeli government has made it clear that Prime Minister Netanyahu is in constant touch with world leaders. Apart from India, talks are also being held with the heads of states of countries like Germany, France and America. Israel says that it needs support at the international level, because Iran’s nuclear threat can become a threat not just for one country, but for the entire world. In such a situation, India’s stance matters a lot, which advocates a balanced and peaceful solution.
