‘There is no link between corona vaccine and sudden deaths’, claims ICMR-AIIMS research

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and AIIMS have jointly conducted a study, on the basis of which it has been claimed that the corona vaccine is not the reason for sudden deaths in the country. Cases of heart attack have increased in people under the age of 40 in the country and especially after the corona epidemic, there has been a significant increase in them. The Union Health Ministry has also confirmed that there is no connection between the corona vaccine and heart attack in the youth.
Government’s clarification on the statement of Karnataka CM
In fact, many youths have died due to heart attack in Hassan district of Karnataka, after which Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in one of his statements blamed the corona vaccine for the heart attack, but the central government has rejected his claim. Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that the corona vaccine was approved in a hurry and then the vaccine was distributed rapidly, so it is possible that the corona vaccine may also be the reason for sudden deaths. He appealed to the people and said that ‘if anyone has chest pain, or difficulty in breathing, then immediately get yourself checked at the nearest hospital and do not ignore the symptoms at all.’
The government said – there are many reasons for sudden death
The Health Ministry has said that various agencies of the country have investigated the sudden deaths and it has been found in the investigation that they have no direct connection with the corona vaccine. ICMR and National Center for Disease Control have also confirmed this in their study. The government said that the corona vaccine is safe and effective and it has rarely shown serious consequences on anyone. The Health Ministry said that there can be many reasons for sudden deaths, including genetics, our lifestyle and routine, any pre-existing disease and problems after getting infected with corona.
ICMR and NCDC conducted a study among people aged 18 to 45 years. This study was conducted from May 2023 to August 2023 in 47 regional hospitals and 19 states and union territories. In this study, people who died suddenly between October 2021 and March 2023 were examined. The study found that these sudden deaths are not related to the corona vaccine. Now a similar study is being conducted by AIIMS, which is funded by ICMR.
The study has found that incidents like heart attack have increased due to genetic mutation. The study is still going on and the report will be made public only after its completion. The government warned that the claims being made are baseless and will weaken the confidence of the general public in the corona vaccine, whereas the corona vaccine saved the lives of millions of people during the corona epidemic. It is noteworthy that the Karnataka CM claimed that more than 20 people have died suddenly in Hassan district in the last month.
