On receiving information about the terrorist attack on Kumaon’s last and largest Kathgodam railway station on Wednesday, there was a stir among the district administration, police administration and railway officials. As soon as the information of the terrorist incident was received, police and administration vehicles started running on the roads.

Amid heavy rains, information was received that there was a terrorist attack on Kathgodam railway station. The passengers who reached the station also got confused. Where the police administration took all the passengers to a safe place. As soon as the information of the terrorist attack was received, ATS anti-terrorism squad as well as bomb disposal squad, police administration and SDRF and medical team as well as fire brigade also reached there.
Jawans killed a terrorist in mock drill
Three people were injured in the mock drill. Where the police administration killed one terrorist while one terrorist was injured. The police succeeded in catching one terrorist. During this time, the Shatabdi Express train running from Delhi also reached the station. The passengers panicked and were seen running here and there. Then rescue work started there. Later the passengers came to know that it was a mock drill, after which the passengers and others heaved a sigh of relief.
80 to 90 soldiers were present during the mock drill
An ambulance, fire brigade, dog squad and 80 to 90 soldiers were present at every place during the mock drill. SP City Prakash Chandra, who reached the spot, said that the purpose of this mock drill is to make the general public aware of how to keep themselves as well as the people around them safe in an emergency situation.
SP City said that Kathgodam railway station is the largest station in Kumaon. A large number of tourists come here, where tourists also keep coming and going for Kainchi Dham. A mock drill has been conducted on how to deal with any kind of terrorist incident in the future.
