Uttarakhand: A young man died after being shot under suspicious circumstances in Kainchi Dham, causing panic and police investigating
A tragic incident occurred late Friday night at the Kiraula Restaurant, located near the famous Kainchi Dham. A young man died on the spot after being shot under suspicious circumstances at around 2 a.m. Upon hearing the gunshot, people nearby rushed to the restaurant, where they found the young man lying in a pool of blood.

Upon receiving the information, Bhawali police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the scene. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The deceased has been identified as Anand Singh (39), a resident of Betalghat. Regarding the case, Kotwali Police SSI Asif Khan stated that the gun used in the shooting was licensed.
Police investigating
The SSI stated that it is currently unclear whether the shooting was an accident or due to some other reason. He added that a forensic team has been called in and evidence is being collected from the scene. Police have informed the deceased’s family about the incident. Meanwhile, the police is investigating the matter.
