Following the death of a Canadian paraglider pilot, another accident occurred in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district. The Austrian pilot had to make an emergency landing in the mountains after taking off from the internationally renowned paragliding site of Bir Billing.

The pilot had taken off from Billing on Monday. Following the emergency landing in the mountains, a rescue operation was launched.

The Billing Paragliding Association and Mountain Para Rescue team safely rescued the Austrian paraglider pilot this morning from an altitude of approximately 14,000 feet above Barot.

Adverse weather caused problems

Due to air pressure and adverse weather, the pilot had to make an emergency landing in the mountains. The administration and management managed to contact the pilot and successfully rescued him via helicopter this morning.

Second accident in three days

This is the second paragliding accident in three days. Three days ago, a Canadian female pilot crash-landed on the Adi Himani mountain. The administration launched a search and rescue operation using helicopters, but the woman’s life could not be saved. The rescue team found her dead yesterday.
