A female teacher died after being hit by a train at the Badripur railway crossing. The woman’s husband is also a teacher, posted in Haridwar. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Nehru Colony police station in-charge Sanjeet Kumar said that on Wednesday night at 9:30 pm, they received information about a woman being hit by a train at the Badripur railway crossing. Police officers rushed to the scene. They found that the Jan Shatabdi train coming from Delhi was stopped, and a woman was lying injured on the tracks about 100 meters towards Harrawala from the Badripur crossing.
With the help of local residents, the woman was pulled out, but she had already died. The deceased was identified as Anjana Sajwan, a resident of Shri Kunj Enclave, Badripur Jogiwal, approximately 44 years old. She was a teacher, posted in Barkot, Uttarkashi. The deceased woman’s husband, Ashok Sajwan, also a teacher, arrived at the scene; he is reportedly posted in Raiwala.
